  Class Action Case Decision
   
  Frank Law Offices, is currently involved in a class action law suit against the Department of Transitional Assistance (formally known as the Department of Public Welfare). It is the first class action to be tried before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD).

On behalf of more than 150 bi-lingual Hispanic social workers who work for the Department, Attorney Donald W. Frank has alleged these individuals are burdened with requests to perform translation services for clients, in addition to their regular duties and without compensation. Since this work load falls primarily on social workers who are Hispanic, it unduly burdens the right of these individuals to be free from discrimination based on their national origin. The case is still in litigation at the MCAD.
