Frank
Law Offices, formerly known as Frank and Frank, P.A.,
has offered expert legal services to
clients throughout Western Massachusetts since 1979. Founded by
Maxine Salvage Frank
- one of the first women to create a solo practice in Springfield
- the firm has always emphasized quality representation, especially
for the underprivileged.
Ms. Frank graduated second in her class at Western New England
College School of Law in 1977, and prior to founding Frank and
Frank, practiced with a large law firm specializing in labor law.
In addition to her work with Frank and Frank, Ms. Frank also taught
labor law as an Adjunct Professor at Western New England School
of Law and held leadership positions on numerous boards of local
charitable organizations. Ms. Frank passed away in 2001.
Donald W. Frank joined the firm in 1986.
Having graduated
with honors from the University of Massachusetts in 1980
(completing his undergraduate work in three years), Attorney Frank
then:
- Graduated
near the top of his class from Western New England College
School of Law in 1984, with an academic award in Torts.
- Had a successful
internship with Silverglate and Gertner (now Federal District
Court Judge Gertner), the premier criminal defense firm in Boston.
- Worked with
the City of Springfield Law Department (where he focused
on complex anti-trust litigation) and,
- With Hendel,
Collins and Stocks, P.C., as a commercial litigator.
Mr. Frank is
currently an Adjunct Professor of Law at Western
New England College School of Law, where he has been teaching
and judging Moot Court competitions since 1999 and previously taught
law at American International
College.
Mr. Frank is
a member of the Executive Committee of Jewish
Geriatric Services, Inc. (JGS), the largest nursing home/elder
service provider in Western Massachusetts where he also serves on
the Ethics Committee and is Chairman of the Human Resources Committee
that oversees policy issues for nearly 500 employees. In addition
to his work with JGS, Mr. Frank has raised thousands of dollars
for a number of AIDS-related organizations focusing on treatment
and research.
Frank Law Offices has handled thousands of cases, and welcomes challenging
litigation. In the early 1980s the firm first gained notoriety
after winning the largest emotional distress damage awarded at that
time by the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
Attorney Frank is a tenacious litigator equally at home in the civil,
criminal, probate and administrative courts. He has conducted hundreds
of hearings and tried over one hundred cases...an experienced litigator,
he has successfully handled murder, discrimination, child custody,
personal injury and business law matters.
Frank Law Offices is currently engaged in the first
class action lawsuit to be determined by Massachusetts Commission
Against Discrimination (MCAD). The lawsuit represents the concerns
of over 150 bi-lingual social workers, who were consistently called
upon to perform extensive translation tasks, in addition to their
regular duties and without compensation. This case has received
national media attention, including articles in The Boston Globe
and on National Public Radio.
Mr. Frank is native to the Pioneer Valley and currently lives in
Northampton, MA with his wife and two children. A former marathon
runner, Don is an avid skier and bicyclist, active in the Northampton
